Upcoming weekend full of fun By Denton Ramsey and Christine Kern If you're looking for something fun and exciting to do this weekend, you won't have to travel far to get that experience. On Saturday, the City of Marlin will be hosting an array of activities, from Market on Main Street to the Lion's Club Car Show. Marlin Main Street Day Local stores and vendors will be attracting weekend visitors and locals who are looking for good deals and homemade items. This is also a good week to buy your graduate a present or start browsing for Father's Day items. In the past, there have been vendors who have sold jellies, jams, homemade jewelry, wooden items and antiques. Please come out and support the local businesses, and artisans who come to Main Street. Lion's Car Show Moved from where it was in the City Park in the fall, the Lion's Car Show is going to be in around the courthouse. Featuring cars that range from antique to classic, these cars can attract even the mildest of enthusiasts. Again, this year the show is open to motorcycles. Car owners come from all over Texas to participate, and to enter your car, it will be a $25 registration fee. Prizes will be given, including a $100 to the club with the most participants, t-shirts and trophies and plaques. Come to swap tales and tips, talk to others interested in cars, and have fun with the entire family.
