Rosebud police retrieve flaming stolen vehicle

Rosebud Police Chief Buddy Meadows reported a busy holiday weekend.

Saturday evening he reported seeing smoke off of Highway 53 on CR 347. A new 2008 Chevy Silverado was in flames when he reached the site. The truck, reportedly stolen from McGregor, was parked near a house.

Meadows called the Rosebud Fire Department to the scene, along with Falls County Deputy Sheriffs officers. The fire department put the flames out. The investigators found a gas can at the scene, which made it appear the fire was set intentionally.

The Chief said, “We recovered a stolen vehicle, it just happened to be on fire.”

Local law enforcement officers from Lott, Falls County game warden and Rosebud police made arrests of juveniles on Monday. A full report will be made in next week’s Rosebud News.

Sergio Bravo, who was being sought by Rosebud Police in connection with vandalism, turned himself into the Sheriff’s Department last week. He was charged with criminal mischief, along with Joseph Pitrucha.

The two individuals were believed to be involved in breaking windows in homes and vehicles in Rosebud in the last few weeks.

Pitrucha was arrested following surveillance at his home on May 17. Marijuana, bagged for sale, and digital scales were found in his vehicle. He was charged with possession of drugs, along with the misdemeanor charges.
