Felony docket heard by Judge Robert Stem during October 30 call

On October 30, 2008, Judge Robert Stem conveyed court to hear felony matters. The following cases were disposed of:

2nd Degree Felony (2 to 20 Years, up to $10,000 fine)

James Ray Chadwick, 30, from Waco, pled guilty to robbery and was placed on 10 years deferred probation, assessed a $2,000.00 fine, ordered to pay restitution and perform 240 hours of community service. Chadwick was arrested on January 23, 2007 by Falls County Sheriff Deputies.

Glen Jackson, 61, from Marlin, pled guilty to aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and was placed on 3 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,000.00 fine, and ordered to perform 240 hours of community service. Jackson was arrested on January 16, 2008 by Marlin Officer Bonner.

3rd Degree Felony (2 to 10 Years, up to $10,00 fine)

Stanley Pierre Scott, Jr., 20, from Marin, pled guilty to felony escape and was sentenced to 10 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division through Boot Camp provisions. Scott was arrested on September 15, 2008 by Marlin Officers.

William Charles Adams, Jr., from Waco, pled guilty to injury to an elderly person and was placed on 3 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,000.00 fine, and ordered to perform 180 hours of community service. Adams was arrested by Marlin Police Department on October 4, 2008.

State Jail Felony ( 6 months to 2 years, up to $!0,000.00 fine)

James Edward Tyler, 44, from Waco, pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine, less than one gram and was sentenced to 2 years confinement in a State Jail Facility. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for 3 years, assessed a $1,000.00 fine, ordered to perform 120 hours of community service and attend a drug intervention class. Tyler was arrested on May 26, 2008 by Marlin Officer Bonner.
