Ima Jean Hegefeld passed away peacefully on December 5, 2016 with her devoted husband, Louis Hegefeld, by her side. She was born in Kosse, Texas on November 26, 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. Morris T. Hall. Jean married the love of her life, Louis, on February 15, 1963. She enjoyed attending dances and playing dominos and cards with her family and friends. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Marlin for more than 20 years. Jean was affectionately known to her grandchildren and great –grandchildren as “Mimi”. She lovingly cooked and cared for all of her family and loved entertaining her family and friends in her home. She was also a devoted member of First Christian Church in Marlin, Texas for more than 50 years. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris T. Hall; six siblings, Curtis, Wilmer, L.D., Thomas, Melvin, and Nita; and beloved son, Dennis Carpenter. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Louis Hegefeld; son, Ricky Hegefeld and his wife Oralee of Marlin; son, Danny Hegefeld and his wife Diane of Chilton; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and sister, Juanita (Tootsie) Pringle. Visitation was held on December 8, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin, Texas. Funeral services were on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10 a.m., and the graveside service immediately followed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin, Texas. Lunch was generously provided and hosted by Frist Christian Church in Marlin, Texas.
