Jimmy Wayne Deer, 82, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in his home. Jimmy was born April 13, 1934 to Berta and Dink Deer in Lott, TX. He graduated from Lott High School in 1952, and then married the love of his life, Marjorie Hennig April 9, 1954. He worked for Southwestern Bell for 40 years and managed Heart of Texas music in Temple for 18 years. He was a member of of the Masonic Lodge in Lott for 50 years. He was also involved in the Falls County Youth Fair and Falls County Go Texan. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margie Hennig Deer; daughters Reneé Nagel of Waco, Kim Hay and her husband Nathan of Marlin, and Tanya Habel and her husband Stephen of Rosebud; six grandchildren: Heston Jenkins and wife Amy, Derek Jenkins and wife Kelli, Colby Jenkins and fiancé Lauren Bouldin, Dusty Nagel, Courtni Sladek and husband Ryan, and Cameron Habel; seven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Riley, Grace, Kinley, Kailtyn, Kutter, and Hudson; and many close friends. Visitation was November 11th from 5pm to 7pm at Cook Gerngross Green Patterson Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at Cook Gerngross Green Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud, TX on Saturday, November 12th at 10am, with a burial for family and friends Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott. Luncheon following at Lott First Baptist Church.
