Martha Ann “Marty” (Hunnicutt) Clark

June 28, 1928 – May 16, 2026

Martha Ann Clark (Marty) passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. Marty was born June 28, 1928, in Utica, NY to Josephine and Emmett Hunnicutt. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Horace (Huck) and Wilford (Bill). She was also preceded in death by her husband, John, her son, Jeff, and his wife, Gail. Also preceding her in death were sons-in-law, Robert Bussell and Richard (Dick) Nelson.

Marty met John while attending Texas Tech. They married in 1949 at her parents’ home in Marlin, Tx. They began their life together in Corpus Christi where she taught elementary school. A short time later, they returned to Marlin, and she continued to teach at both the First Presbyterian Day School and the Marlin Elementary School.

Marty and John were active members of the First Presby-terian Church of Marlin. She was also member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She enjoyed bridge, quilting and spending time at the beach.

She moved to the Forum in The Woodlands in 2009 and enjoyed an active social life through volunteering at her church and the activities available at the Forum.

Marty leaves behind daughters, Melissa Nelson, Sharon Bussell, Joann Clark and wife Brenda Hopson, Molly Clark and wife Kay Tanner and her favorite, Tabby, her kitty.

Survivors include her niece Linda Church and husband Chris, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a great niece and nephew. The family wishes to thank Marty’s caregivers, Lydia, Mary, Alice and Elena, for their exceptional kindness and compassionate care.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at The Forum for friends and family on Sunday, May 31 at 2 PM. The Forum is located at 5055 West Panther Creek, The Woodlands, TX 77381. A graveside service in Marlin, TX will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to send a memorial, Marty’s favorite charities were her church, Faith in Practice and Fibromuscular Dysplasia Society of America.
