Providence S. Lombardo, 88 of Marlin, entered into rest on Sunday, May 8, 2022, in Waco.

Providence was born on Jan. 7, 1934, to Jasper and Katie (Musia) Salvato in Eloise.  She was a longtime resident of Marlin. Providence married the love of her life, Tony Lombardo, on Feb. 8, 1953, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marlin, where she was a member for years.

Throughout her adult life, she worked with her husband as a farmer and account manager. When not working with the family business she found great joy in cooking wonderful recipes, gardening, watching game shows, and playing chicken foot with her friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During her later years, Providence found great joy in the support and love that her son, Tony provided for her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony Lombardo; sisters, Annie Stratta and Angie Weido; and brother, Vence Salvato.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy Green and husband Steve of Woodway, and JoAnne Cotto and husband Gabe of Mansfield; son, Tony Lombardo Jr. of Marlin;  grandsons, Aaron Green of Houston, and Michael Rutherford and wife Molly of Chilton; great-grandsons, Owen Rutherford and Ivan Rutherford; and sister-in-law, Mary Beth Caston of Round Rock.

The family would like to thank the wonderful Visiting Angels, Baylor Scott and White-Hillcrest physicians, nurses and staff for their love and caring support.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marlin.
