FALLS COUNTY FELONY DOCKET

On September 15, 2022, Judge Bryan F. Russ Jr. convened court to hear felony matters presented by District Attorney Jody Gilliam.  The following felony cases were disposed of:  

 

2nd Degree Felony (2 to 20 years, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

Kenneth Grant Garrett, 66, from Marlin, pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine more than one gram but less than four grams. He was placed on 10 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,500.00 fine. Garrett was arrested on August 8, 2021, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office. 

 

3rd Degree Felony (2 to 10 years, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

Tyler Kyle Beechem, 32, from Rosebud, pled guilty to driving while intoxicated 3rd or more. He was sentence to 5 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on 5 years probation, assessed a $2,500.00 fine. Beechem was arrested on December 6, 2021, by Texas Department of Public Safety. 

Everett Demond Robinson, 36, from Houston, pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine more than one gram but less than four grams. He was sentenced to 4 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System. Robinson was arrested on November 11, 2021, by Marlin Police Department. 

Joel Arturo Chavez, 64, from Marlin, pled guilty to driving while intoxicated 3rd or more. He was sentenced to 5 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on 5 years probation, assessed a $2,500.00 fine. Chavez was arrested on September 4, 2021, by Marlin Police Department. 

William Ronnie Simpson, 43, from Bremond, pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine more than one gram but less than four grams. He was placed on 5 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,500.00 fine. Simpson was arrested on May 7, 2022, by Marlin Police Department.

 

State Jail Felony (6 to 24 months, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

Joel Arturo Chavez, 64, from Marlin, pled guilty to possession of controlled substance, methamphetamine, less than one gram. He was placed on 5 years deferred probation. Chavez was arrested on September 4, 2021, by Marlin Police Department.
