Lions Club’s Newest Member is a Constable

Jerry Wood is the Falls County Precinct 4 Constable. He lives in Lott, but you can expect to see him often in Marlin. He is the newest member of the Lions Club of Marlin. Having joined the Lions Club, he joins 1.4 million caring men and women serving together so they can make a lasting impact and change more lives. Constable Wood has already rolled up his sleeves and served at the Food Truck service line. Constable Wood stands ready to take action to make our community better. That’s Lions. Being a Lion is about leading by example, building relationships and improving the world through kindness.

Jerry Wood graduated from Marlin High School and attended McLennan Community College in Waco, He graduated from the Waco Police Academy and served with the Waco Police Department for 35.5 years.

His roots began in Marlin. You might remember his parents, Ruth Wood, County Clerk for Falls County (retired in 1971), and Gilbert Wood, who served as County Extension Agent (passed away while still in office, 1977).

When you see Constable Jerry Wood, be sure to ask him about his enjoyment of ranching, civic duties, and, oh, yes, his six children. Constable Wood also remodels houses!
