2020 Juneteenth Community Parade
Join the Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce for an exciting parade celebrating our democratic freedoms, rich culture, and community achievements.
The Chamber has worked with the City of Waco to coordinate a safe, enjoyable parade for everyone to enjoy. Safety precautions include a new map route, emphasized motorcade procession, and occupancy limits within the motor vehicles. The parade will begin at the historic Paul Quinn Campus and proceed down Elm Avenue to Heritage Square outside City Hall.
The Chamber Team is excited for everyone to participate this year as June 2020 is the 40th Anniversary of the Emancipation Day being recognized as a holiday by the State of Texas. The spirit of the holiday is captured in the 2020 theme, "The Voices of Change." By coming together, we hope our community leaders, residents, and youth can forge news paths while respecting our history too.
JOIN THE PARADE
Local businesses and organizations are invited to join the parade. Sponsorship and entry registration can be found at centexchamber.com/Juneteenth-parade. Online registration is highly encouraged. Exclusive CTAACC parade shirts are available at https://stores.inksoft.com/ctaacc.
Proceeds from the event and shirt sales will benefit the CTMB Fund, a minority lending program led by the Chamber and the Center of Business Excellence.
JOIN THE FUN
People of all demographics and ages are invited to attend as spectators. There will be plenty of viewing spaces along the route. Parade participants have been given permission to pass candy and other items to spectators so you never know what you will find and see. You're welcome to bring lawn chairs and masks for comfort.
