35th Annual 100+ Garage Sale coming in Nov.

Rosebud is home to the annual 100+ garage sale, celebrating it’s 35th anniversary this year. Up until now, there has been a question of whether the event would take place this year.

There have been delays from the city council, but now that the council has passed the closing of streets, the adventure can commence.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 a.m., 100+ garage sale booths will line downtown Rosebud, with vendors of all sorts. There is expected to be food trucks, art, homemade food, antiques, clothes, and more.

The entire town transforms into a garage sale, with people setting up in their own garages and on their own lawns.

Coronavirus has thrown a hitch in many plans this year, but Tiffani Murray, a member of the Rosebud Chamber of Commerce, says it won’t let it stop them yet.

“It’s frustrating, for sure,” she told the Rosebud News, “The virus is delaying a lot of things - planning, vendors, all of that kind of stuff.”

The event normally brings a number of people into the area, but additional precautions have been factored into planning.

Main Street itself will be closed to vehicles, but there will not be booths set up on the sidewalks this year. They will be in the road on Main, along with side streets.

“Social distancing lanes” will accompany the use of additional parts of 4th and 2nd streets in order to increase the area between booths.

Patrons will be expected to wear facial coverings and any other social distancing measures in effect at the time of the event.

It will be cancelled in the event of an executive order reclosing the state of Texas.
