Act fast if you smell gas

Tips from Atmos on what to do if you smell natural gas: • Leave the area immediately • Call 911 (and your gas provider) from a safe distance • DO NOT turn any electric switches on or off; this could cause a spark, igniting the gas • DO NOT use a cell phone, telephone, garage door opener, door bell, or even a flashlight • DO NOT smoke, use a lighter, or light a match • DO NOT start or stop nearby machinery or vehicles • DO NOT try to shut off a natural gas valve. Atmos Energy Customers can call the toll-free emergency number at +1(866)322-8667. Atmos will send out a trained service technician immediately to investigate at no cost. Do not assume that someone else will report a leak.
