Lions Club Marlin President Sheila Lawson named Zone Chair

Special to the Marlin Democrat

Texas is the second largest state in the union, and is home to 850 clubs and over 23,000 members. Each year, Texas Lions contribute nearly two million service hours helping their communities and charitable organizations. Texas was divided most recently into 16 districts. Within our district is Zone B1 which includes Marlin, Groesbeck, Kosse, Mart, Mexia, and Riesel.

Recently, Sheila Lawson was selected as Zone Chair, the administrative officer of the zone within Lions Club and a member of the district’s leadership team. In coordination with the Global Membership Team, she will play an active role in membership development including extension of new clubs. In coordination with the Global Leadership Team, she will play an active role supporting leadership initiatives by informing Lions about leadership development opportunities at the zone, district of multiple district level. She remains a crucial link between the clubs in the zone and the district. As Zone Chair, Sheila will motivate, counsel, and communicate with the clubs and promote district programs and activities.

Lions Club President Sheila Lawson seeks ways to expand the Lions Club’s humanitarian service impact to meet the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of our community and to promote the principles of good government and good citizenship.
