Marlin Juneteenth Club “Reaching New Heights”

The Marlin Texas Juneteenth Club met at 2 p.m., Sept. 19, at the Falconer Stamp Center, with newly elected President Hermetta Paul presiding.  

Attendees included Sandra Mitchell, Secretary, Linda Lockridge, Asst. Secretary, Ennis Degrate, Treasurer, Albert Manigo, Howard Moore, Rev. Stephen Johnson, Albert Manigo, Sue Butler and Donnie Butler. 

The minutes and Treasurer report from the June meeting were approved as read. 

Recognition in the loss of the organization’s most previous leadership, Curtis Smith, President and B.T. McDonald Jr, Vice President, was acknowledged. Banking transitions will be updated. Proposed budget items were discussed, and copies of the current Constitution/Bylaws were dispersed. Members were encouraged to review for office of interest. 

New business discussed included change of meeting days, upcoming membership drive (annual $12 dues), and building use rental fee. It was agreed to volunteer and donate to the Salvation Army. Members were reminded of the April Chili sale. Marlin Juneteenth Club is a 501c3 organization.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:32 p.m.
