Memorial Day at Powers Chapel, a memoir

Iwas asked to give a short recollection of my memories of Powers Chapel over the years.

My mind immediately went back to when I was a small child and we dressed in our “Sunday Best” as though we were attending church that day. It was usually on my daddy’s birthday so that made it very special.

My mom would cook up our favorite dishes and pack them in newspaper and towels to keep them warm or cold, as we did not have an ice chest.
