MHS Cosmetology/Barbering Halloween Event

“Spooky Runway” was the theme of the Cosmetology and Barbering students’ October 30 event at Marlin High School. Four studentdriven teams competed for the Halloween-themed challenge. The Sound of Thunder Drumline provided entertainment at intermission.

Three judges based the winners on creative hairstyling and theatrical makeup, and fashion costume design. Winners were (1st)-Corpse Bride Esbeydi Mendiola, (2nd)-La Catrina-Antia Marquez, (3rd)-Chucky-Luis Vasquez and (4th) Purge-Ciera Walker and Charlie Smith. Sarayln Thomas was also a participant. The student body was given the opportunity to engage their selections via the “Live at the Apollo” concept.

Mrs. Connie Massington is the Cosmetology and Barbering classes instructor. There are forty-three students in the CTE program. They are looking forward to the end of the year Exposition in May 2026. Under the guidance of Art Teacher, Mr. Candrell Paul, the Art Class collaborated with the project by providing Halloween stage decorations.
