Commissioners Approved New Memorial Marker
Falls County Commissioners Court met Monday, July 14,2025, at 9:00 a.m., County Judge Jay Elliott presiding. The commissioners present were F. A. Green (Pct 2) via teleconference, Jason Willberg (Pct. 3), and Nita Wuebker (Pct. 4).
Milton Albright (Pct. 1) was not in attendance.
ADA Steve Sharp was present.
Commissioner Wuebker moved to approve the road use agreement between Falls County and Riverbend Renewables, LLC, addressing possible degradation of countymaintained roads in the construction, operation or maintenance of the Falls County Reinvestment Zone-Riverbend.
Commissioner Willberg second and the motion carried. Commissioner Green moved to accept the Texas Office Systems maintenance contract renewal for the Tax Office copier. Second, Commissioner Willberg, the motion carried. Commissioner Willberg moved to approve the County financial software upgrade to Accufund. Commissioner Green moved In other matters, Commissioners approved the appointment of Kayci Nehring to calculate the 2025 tax year effective tax rate for Falls County Lateral Road and for Falls County and approved the bonding of Rebecca Lord, Sheriff Office. Several Interlocal agreements for assessment and collection of taxes with surrounding areas were approved to include Westphalia ISD, Emergency Service District #1and #3 and the City of Rosebud.
Commissioner Wuebker moved to approve the ATLIS FY 2025 IGT (indigent health care) payment of $45,642.11 to the Falls Community Hospital & Clinic. Second, Commissioner Willberg, the motion carried. Commissioners also approved indigent cremation.
On another note, the Falls County Auditor, Georgie Patterson, applauded the staff and county offices for their support. Commissioner Willberg moved to accept the County Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending September 2024. Seconded by Commissioner Wuebker, the motion carried.
In reference to the Name Marker or Memorial Marker Highway Sign Agreement, Commissioner Wuebker moved to approve the agreement. Commissioner Willberg seconded and the motion carried. Falls County will pay $5000 for the cost incurred by the State for the project prior to fabrication and/or installation of the signs, State Highway 7 from the eastern border of Falls County to the intersection of said State Highway 7 and State Highway 6 as Deputy Matt Jones Memorial Highway.
Commissioners approved changing PR (Private Road) 605 to CR (County Road). Bids will be accepted through August 8 for miscellaneous contracts, gasoline, diesel fuel, motor oil, asphalt and bridge materials/ new or used steel or iron. The bids will be posted in the Marlin Democrat July 16 edition.
Commissioner Wuebker moved to approve the payments of bills. Commissioner Willberg second and the motion carried. Commissioner Wuebker moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, 2025, seconded by Commissioner Willberg, the motion carried. With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:49 a.m. The next Commissioners’ Court meeting will be on July 28 at 9 a.m.
