Courthouse Elevator Repairs Completed
The Falls County Commissioners Court met February 9, 2026, Judge Jay Elliott presiding. Commissioners present were Milton Albright (Pct. 1), F. A. Green (Pct. 2), Jason Willberg (Pct. 3) and Nita Wuebker (Pct. 4). ADA Steve Sharp was in attendance.
Commissioners approved (1) funding for the Central Texas Soil & Maintenance Board that will be used to maintain the Cow Bayou watershed structures within the district, (2) service and maintenance agreement for the jail camera system, (3) county official bond for Tina Melendrez, Asst. Treasurer and Racial Profiling Report of Jerry Wood, Falls County Constable, Pct. 4.
In other matters, the Commissioners approved the annual ACA Reporting and Tracking Service (ARTS) agreement. This program tracks counties’ health and employee benefits pools. Concerning the quarterly investment report, Commissioners approved the report and recommendation of the County Treasurer to invest interest earned into two benefit pools., each pool $57.3 million.
Regarding a construction project, an Interlocal Agreement between Falls County and the Chilton ISD was approved by the Commissioners. The contract will include repairing existing flaws with the entrance to the CISD campus. Commissioners moved to change the speed limit to 30 mph CR 408.
Jeff Jackson, Road & Bridge Administrator, noted the department is fully staffed and three bridges will be worked on, state funded. Additional FEMA funds are available at the closing of the FEMA case. Jackson was approved to purchase a motor grader.
Commissioner Albright moved to approve the payment of all bills, budget amendments, and payroll. Seconded by Commissioner Willberg, the motion carried. Commissioner Wuebker moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Second by Commissioner Willberg, the motion carried. The next Commissioners meeting is Monday, February 23 at 9 am. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
