Marlin ISD Announces Death of 6th Grade Student
Marlin Independent School District shared news of the death of a sixth grade student on their Facebook page on Sunday, Nov. 9.
“We are deeply saddened to share the loss of one of our sixth grade students,” the post said. “This is a devastating loss for our entire Marlin ISD family, and our hearts go out to the student’s family, friends, and all who knew and loved them.”
Marlin ISD arranged for the Region 12 ESC Crisis Team to be on campus on Monday, November 10th, to provide counseling and emotional support. “Students who feel they need someone to talk to will have access to trained professionals who can help them process their thoughts, feelings, and questions. Families may also access 24-hour weekend counseling support by calling 1-866-7523451. We strongly encourage you to reach out if you or your child need support during this very difficult time.”
The district acknowledged that everyone may experience the sorrow of this loss differently, and encouraged all affected to lean on MISD counselors and staff who are readily available to offer care, comfort, and guidance.
“During this difficult time, let us come together as the Marlin ISD family to support one another with compassion, kindness, and care.”
