Marlin ISD Moves Up From D Rating in State Accountability

Marlin ISD is celebrating steady academic progress, with the latest Texas Education Agency accountability ratings showing continued improvement across the district.

The district overall improved from a score of 66, or a D, in 2023 to a 73, or a C, in both 2024 and 2025.

Marlin Elementary School posted the largest gains, rising from a 60 (D) in 2023 to a 72 (C) in 2024 and a 75 (C) in 2025 — a 15-point increase in two years.

Marlin High School maintained an upward trend as well, moving from a 79 (C) in 2023 and 2024 to an 80 (B) in 2025. The campus also earned two state distinctions this year: Academic Achievement in Social Studies and Postsecondary Readiness.

“I am incredibly proud of the resilience and hard work of our students, staff and community,” Superintendent Dr. Darryl J. Henson said. “These results are a testament to our collective commitment to excellence and a clear sign that our focused efforts are moving Marlin ISD forward.”
