Food Bank moved to MHS Parking Lot

In cooperation with the Central Texas Food Bank, the Marlin Lions Club and Falls County Samaritan House will host their monthly food bank truck at Marlin High School on May 22.

It will be very similar to April’s food drive, where residents lined up in the street and drove through to receive food a few cars at a time.

Because the location is different this time, cars will instead line Clark Street and enter the school parking lot from that side. The truck will be behind the school t so that patrons can drive right through onto Live Oak Street to exit.

Capps Street will be blocked at Donahoo, with law enforcement officials set to direct traffic towards Clark. Officers will also be stationed at Clark and Donahoo, at the entrance on Clark, and at the exit on Live Oak Street to assist with patron needs.

See the map above for more details.

The Food Bank will take place at approximately 10 a.m. and will conclude around 11:30 if everything is on schedule.

April’s food bank was held behind the Marlin Chamber of Commerce building. Two full truckloads of food were distributed among countless individuals and families from the community. Volunteers from the three above named organizations, along with countless other community supporters, came out to help, ultimately serving 276 families.
