Reward for missing cattle jumps to $21,000

Information leading to the recovery of Falls County livestock increased from $1,000 to $21,000 on June 19.

Numerous heads of cattle were reported stolen from the Golinda area back in February of 2019. The theft has continued, with the last recorded theft happening on June 17. This brings the total to 75 missing animals.

The steers and heifers vary in weight and color, but they are all branded with laying down F on the left hip.

TSRCA Special Ranger Marvin Wills said that the theft of this many animals is “just devastating” for any rancher, and he hopes someone will come forward with information to help the investigation close faster, according to a press release.

A reward was offered in the amount of $1,000 by Operation Cow Thief, an initiative put in place by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSRCA.)

Jason Farmer Livestock LLC has added $20,000 of their own money to the $1,000 reward.

The reward will be paid to an individual who provides information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the person or persons responsible for the crime.

Any and all information provided will be kept confidential.

Tps may be provided anonymously by calling (888) 830-2333, but those with information may call Wills directly at (2540 223-2330 or the Falls County Sheriff’s Department at (254) 883-1431.

“If you’ve seen something, say something,” Wills said. “It could help us recover the cattle, or at least get the owner restitution for the loss.”
