13th Annual Central Texas Stocker Cattle Program planned for June 21

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, McLennan County along with multiple county extension committees will host the 13th Annual Central Texas Stocker Cattle Program on Wednesday, June 21, at the West Auction Barn in West. 

Some of the speakers will be: Kaleb McLaurin, Texas Beef Council will provide an “Texas Beef Council Update;” Tyler Schuster, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association will provide an “Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Update;”  Marvin Wills, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association will provide an “Theft Awareness (Live Cattle Branding Demonstration);” Dr. Jeff Sarchet, DVM at Zoetis Animal Health will perform a necropsy and demonstrate “Improving Profit and Beef Carcass Integrity;”  Dr. Ron Gill, Extension Agent and Animal Science Program Leader will provide a live cattle demonstration on “BQA and Low Stress Handling of Livestock;”  and more.

A breakfast and a steak lunch will be provided during the program. The registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and consist of a $10 registration fee payable by Check or Cash Only.
