Adult Prom in Marlin Saturday

Have you ever wished to relive the glitz and glam of your high school prom? Saturday night is your chance!

Toward the end of 2025, a handful of Marlin women felt compelled to organize a fun, local event for adults and came up with the idea to host Marlin Adult Prom.

“This is just meant to be a fun thing to do,” said one of the organizers, Traci Dimerson. “We’re trying to get word out there, and I have a feeling that this year won’t be as big as we want it to be, but it’s the start of something.”

Dimerson and her cohorts (Princess Womack, Bridgette Burleson, Deitrich Lang-Bailey, and LaFeavia Robinson) are not an official organization and are funding this event out of pocket. They hope the idea will catch on and can be repeated next year with sponsorship funding.

Marlin Adult Prom will be held Saturday night at Booker T. Washington (BTW) Alumni Building (216 Falls St.) from 7 pm to 12 am and will feature a live DJ, appetizers, and refreshments. The red carpet will be ready and waiting for guests dressed up in formal or semi-formal wear.

All adults 25 years old and older are welcome and invited. You don’t have to be a Marlin ISD alumnus to attend, but you will certainly meet some at the event.

Pre-sale tickets are available for purchase until Thursday at $10 per person or $20 per couple, and can be purchased directly from the organizers mentioned above.

At the door on Saturday, ticket prices increase to $15 per person or $25 per couple.

The event is BYOB and will have security on site. An after-party is planned at Club Paradise immediately following the end of prom.
