AgriLife honors Dr. Jim

Dr. Jim Cathey, a 1986 graduate of Marlin High School and the son of Stella and Jim Cathey of Marlin, was recognized for his work with Ranch Management University. He is currently the Associate Director of Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute.

According to an article by Kay Ledbetter, associate editor for AgriLife,  Superior Service Awards were presented on Jan. 8, by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension during the annual AgriLife Conference in College Station. The Superior Service Awards recognize Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service faculty and staff members that have provided outstanding performance in extension education to their organization and to Texans.

Alongside Dr. Cathey,  the Ranch Management team consists of AgriLife Extension’s  Dr. Larry Redmon, specialist and associate department headsoil and crop sciences;  Dr. David Anderson, economistlivestock marketing;  Dr. Jason Cleere, beef cattle specialist;  Linda Francis, administrative coordinator, soil and crop sciences and Matt Brown, program specialist.
