Area Agency on Aging offers programs for family caregivers

The Area Agency on Aging of the Heart of Texas offers Stress-Busting Program for Family Caregivers in Marlin. SBP provides support to caregivers who are caring for individuals with chronic conditions such as heart disease, COPD, rheumatoid athritis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, Parkinson’s, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and/or dementia. SBP has been proven to reduce caregiver stress, anxiety, anger, depression, and improve quality of life for caregivers and their loved ones. 

We know caregiving can be stressful so free help is available. Chronic Illness Stress-Busting for Family Caregivers will be offered in Marlin on Tuesday afternoons from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Falls Community Hospital & Clinic on 322 Coleman Street, Marlin. Classes will meet 90 minutes per week for nine weeks. They are free and come with a complimentary book. Classes begin  April 25 running through June 20.

Stress Busting offers caregivers tools and strategies they may need to care for themselves as well as their loved ones. The program utilizes a holistic approach addressing emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of caregivers. You should pre-register for SBP to assure a seat.
