CHARTER COMMISSION MEETING
The City of Marlin Charter Commission will host a public meeting on May 19, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at City Hall Chambers, 101 Fortune Street.
Residents are invited to share their views on potential changes to the existing City Charter, which serves as the foundation of local government. Public input will help shape the commission’s recommendations for amendments that may appear on the November 4, 2025 ballot.

GRIEFSHARE SEMINAR

AMERICAN LEGION American Legion Post #31 will be meeting in a new location at the Falls County Historical Museum, 145 Heritage Row in Marlin on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. They would like to remind the public of three flag disposal locations in Marlin: Judge Jay T Elliott’s Office in the Falls County Courthouse, Marlin City Hall and the Marlin Democrat News Office.
MARLIN SENIOR CENTER
Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m.
There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.

NAACP will meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Hitching Post on 5029 State Hwy 7.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child.
