Stress busting
The Heart of Texas Area Agency on Aging will be sponsoring a Stress Busting Class for Family Caregivers beginning on Tuesday, July 18, and it will run for nine weeks every Tuesday at the Marlin Public Library from 2-3 p.m. No charge to attend. MARLIN BAPTIST CHURCH MEN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS
Several activities are planned as the Marlin Missionary First Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Vincent Hartsfield, celebrates its Men’s Day. A Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be Saturday, Aug. 12, at 8:15 a.m. The theme is “Men Come to Jesus”, Matt. 11: 28-30. Program will include Words of Testimonies (Bro. Alton Cheeves, Bro. Harvey Hartsfield, Bro. J.C. Christian) and Words of Encouragement (Minister Rickey Loftis, Pastor Kurt Romes and Rev. Adam Morgan). The Annual Men’s Day is Sunday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. The guest church is Pastor Joe Scaggs and the True Vine Baptist Church of Bremond. All events will be at the church, 507 Bennett at George Streets. faith hope & charity play day
As a part of a national wide effort to help children have more active and healthy lifestyles,the Faith, Hope, and Charity (FHC) has planned its Annual Play Day, Sept. 29, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Apple Sport Complex, corner of Anders @ Ward Streets in Marlin. Activities will include bounce houses, free hot dogs, cookies and water, splash pad and overall family fun.
The public is asked to bring your lawn chairs & blankets. Everything is free. FHC is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving local youth ranging from Preschool-5th grade. Homework assistance, tutoring and individualized instruction are provided. The program is based on S.A.Y. (Save Our Youth). For more info, contact Shirley Piper at (254) 644-0296.

Marlin senior
center
Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.
Story Time
Children’s Story Time returns to the Marlin Library on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
NAACP
NAACP will meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Hitching Post on 5029 State Hwy 7.
After School
Program
The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child. Lions Club meeting
Lions Club of Marlin will meet every second Tuesday of each month at 12 p.m. at the Chicken Place.

Assistance
Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans / Outreach.
