MEETING 

CANCELLATION

The Marlin Economic Development Corporation has canceled its Dec. 26, 2023, meeting. The next scheduled meeting will be on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 101 Fortune Street, Marlin, Texas. The meeting will be conducted according to the Texas Open Meetings Act.

PEAS, LOVE AND CORNBREAD

Mooreville Methodist Church will hold Peas, Love, and Cornbread to start your New Year with a tradtional meal at the Church on the Hill. Sausage, cabbage, black-eyed peas, cornbread and dessert. Pick up & take out only on Dec. 31 from 12-2 p.m. Cost is $10. Advance tickets available. Get yours online or from a member of Mooreville Methodist Church. Austin Food Truck will be at the First Baptist Church/Golden Years parking lot on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 10-11 a.m.

 

American Legion

Falls County American Legion Post 31 meets the second Monday of the month at 1 Mesquite Tree Lane at 6 p.m. Their phone number is (254) 883-5056.

 

Marlin senior 

center

Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.

 

Veterans 

Assistance

Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans / Outreach. This will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 365 Coleman St, Marlin. For more information, call (254) 832-5971. To make an appointment please call Jason McCarty at (254) 640-0906. Every second Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at hte Marlin Men’s Civic Association at 1106 N Business Highway 6.

 

NAACP

NAACP will meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Hitching Post on 5029 State Hwy 7.

 

Lions Club

Lions Club of Marlin will meet every second Tuesday of each month at 12 p.m. at the Chicken Place.
