Fish Fry Friday

Fish Fry Friday at Westphalia Parish Hall starting March 4 through April 8. Cost is $12 a plate for a big plate of fried fish, shrimp, slaw, fries and beans. Please observe the new traffic pattern when ordering. Lets all stay off the highway and stay safe. Knights of Columbus #13902 raffle tickets also available for cash prizes. $20 per ticket or 6 for $100. Available at the fish fry, Westphalia Tire & Battery or from any KC member Proceeds from the raffle will go to buy something for the new church. Drawing will be on April 8.  Need not be present to win.

 

BTW Alumni

The Marlin BTW Alumni & Ex-Students Association will meet Thursday, February 17 at 6:00 pm at the BTW Center.

 

Presidents Day Dinner

President’s Day Dinner at Youth Fair Pavilion in Marlin City Park on Feb. 21. Keynote Speaker will be Lt. Col. Allen West retired army, former U.S. Congressman, and former Chairman of the Texas Republican Party.  Tickets are $25 each or a table of eight for $160. Black History Workshop

The Marlin Missionary First Baptist Church, Rev. Vincent Hartsfield, Pastor, will host the Good Hope Western General Association Mission I, Mission II, Jr. Mission and Youth Department  Black History Special Workshop, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 19. Souls to the Polls

The public is invited to Souls to the Polls Black History Celebration on Sunday, Feb. 20, from 3-5 p.m. at Booker T. Washington Alumni & Ex Students Building, 216 Falls Street in Marlin. Heaven or Hell refreshments will be served. Let’s meet and greet.

 

Local Youth Program

Gospel Lighthouse Church invites all youths within the community to Foundation Youth, an hour and a half long time of games, food, fun, and fellowship. It takes place each Sunday evening from 5-6:30 p.m. at 1009 Live Oak in Marlin.

 

MACC Grand opening

The grand opening for the Marlin Animal Control Center on Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. 

The public is encouraged to come see the facility for themselves, and to learn more about how they can participate as volunteers or be good community stewards.

American Legion

Veterans Assistance

Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans / Outreach. After School Program

The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child. The program takes place at Marlin Elementary School.
