Kites for the Kingdom

Kites for the Kingdom will be held June 18 at Marlin Legion Field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kites free to kids. Free hot dogs, soda and water. Corn hole competition, horseshoes, sack races, tug of war games. Sponsored by Coffee Club and various Marlin churches.

 

Juneteenth

Marlin will celebrate Juneteenth on June 18 with a parade and ceremony. Juneteenth - Breaking Every Chain will begin with a parade at 11 a.m.  Line up begins at 10 a.m. at the Faulkner Stamp Center. A ceremony is set for 12:30 p.m. at the BTW Event Center with food, fun and games from 3-6 p.m. For more information or to participate call, S. Johnson at (254) 715-2902 or H. 150th Church Anniversary

Perry United Methodist Church will celebrate their 150th Anniversary on June 12. It will begin with a 10:30 a.m. service under the direction of Rev. Lynn Starnes. Directly following the service a meal will follow. Cost of plate lunch will be $15 and will be paid at the time of receiving your plate. Criswell Cemetery Homecoming

The 71st Annual Criswell Cemetery Homecoming will be Sunday, June 12, at 11 a.m. General Business Meetin followed by Singing and Communion, 12 p.m. Lunch.

 

Hamburger Dinner

The Perry Ladies Society at Perry United Methodist Church will be presenting their 4th annual hamburger drive thru supper, Saturday, June 18, from 5-7 (or until sold out) the drive thru will be at the Perry Methodist Fellowship Hall, 193 CR 127, Riesel.  For $10 participants will receive a large hamburger, chips, drink, and home made dessert.

 

Chamber Banquet

Marlin Chamber of Commerce will host its annual banquet on June 30 at 6 p.m. at the Falls County Livestock Youth Pavilion. Featured guest speaker will be former Marlinite Curtis Modkins, Minnesota Vikings running back coach and run game coordinator. Tickets are $20 presale and $25 at the door. Senior Fun

Senior fun time in Marlin. Marlin seniors will sponsor a day of fun, fellowship, games, and of course food. Activities will begin at the Marlin Senior Civic Center, 104 Hays Street, in Marlin by 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, and commence by 3 p.m.  Everyone is welcome, we look forward to seeing you.

 

Marlin Fest

Marlin Fest will be held at the Falls County Youth Pavilion on July 2 from 5 p.m. until ? Texas Heatwave Band will perform. Music, food, vendors, fun, kid fishing and fireworks.

 

Marlin Market on Main

Marlin Market on Main - Dates in downtown Marlin - July 2 from 5-9 p.m. at Marlin Fest (FCYF), and Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Williams Pavilion. For more information, please email tourism@marlintx.net.

 

Project Leader Workshop

The Mid-Texas Area Team is hosting a Project Leader Workshop, Saturday, Sept. 10, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall, 1401 W. Central Ave.,Temple, Texas, 76504. Do you enjoy packing shoebox gifts for children through Operation Christmas Child, which shares the Gospel with children, worldwide?  Do you encourage others to pack boxes or do you lead a group to collect shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child? Join us to receive information, resources, and ideas to generate more boxes. Participate in an Escape Room activity, learn about the impact made on the lives of shoebox recipients, especially through The Greatest Journey discipleship program, and learn how to create gifts for boxes. Local Youth Program

Gospel Lighthouse Church invites all youths within the community to Foundation Youth, an hour and a half long time of games, food, fun, and fellowship. It takes place each Sunday evening from 5-6:30 p.m. at 1009 Live Oak in Marlin.

 

Computer classes

Computer Classes continue at the Marlin Library on Mondays at 10:30 a.m.

 

Story Time

Children’s Story Time returns to the Marlin Library on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

 

American Legion

Veterans Assistance

Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans / Outreach. After School 

Program

The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child. The program takes place at Marlin Elementary School. NAACP will meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Falconer Stamp Center on Durr Street.
