Fish Fry Friday

Fish Fry Friday at Westphalia Parish Hall through April 8. Cost is $12 a plate for a big plate of fried fish, shrimp, slaw, fries and beans. Please observe the new traffic pattern when ordering. Lets all stay off the highway and stay safe. Knights of Columbus #13902 raffle tickets also available for cash prizes. $20 per ticket or 6 for $100. Available at the fish fry, Westphalia Tire & Battery or from any KC member Proceeds from the raffle will go to buy something for the new church. Drawing will be on April 8.  Need not be present to win.

 

Fryday Fish Fry 

Fryday Fish Fry hosted by Wesleyan Circle FUMC Marlin. Friday, April 8, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 411 Coleman Street in Marlin. Dine in or drive thru (Chambers). Cost is $12 a plate. Meal includes fish, slaw, hushpuppies and beans.

 

Garden Club Fundraiser

Community Garden Club Fundraiser marker will be held on April 9 rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lucille Williams Pavilion. There will be plants, handmade cards, wreaths, yard art and more. 

 

FALLS COUNTY FREE TRASH DAY 

Falls County Free Trash Day will be on Saturday, April 23, from 8 a.m. to noon (or until dumpsters are full.) Two Locations: Falls County Jail Site, 2847 Hwy. 6, Marlin; Waste Collection Station, 330 S. Hwy. 77, Lott. Batteries, Appliances & Brush (no larger than 3” in diameter) Will Be Accepted. No Tires - No Chemicals - No Hazardous Waste - No Roofing Materials.

 

Food Bank Distribution

Central Texas Food Bank will distribute food in Falls County on the following days: Friday, April 15, from 10-11 a.m. at 105 E. Gassaway Ave. in Lott, and Friday, April 22, from 10-11 a.m. at Marlin High School, 1400 Capps St. in Marlin.

 

Local Youth Program

Gospel Lighthouse Church invites all youths within the community to Foundation Youth, an hour and a half long time of games, food, fun, and fellowship. It takes place each Sunday evening from 5-6:30 p.m. at 1009 Live Oak in Marlin.

 

Computer classes

Computer Classes continue at the Marlin Library on Mondays at 10:30 a.m.

 

Story Time

Children’s Story Time returns to the Marlin Library on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

 

American Legion

Falls County American Legion Post 31 meets the second Monday of the month. Next meeting is March 14 at 1 Mesquite Tree Lane at 6 p.m. Their phone number is (254) 883-5056.

 

Veterans Assistance

Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans / Outreach. After School Program

The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child. The program takes place at Marlin Elementary School. NAACP

NAACP will meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Falconer Stamp Center on Durr Street.

 

Lions Club meeting

Lions Club of Marlin will meet every second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 12 p.m. at the Chicken Place.
