The Marlin Missionary First Baptist Church, 507 Bennett Street, will celebrate the 7th Anniversary of Pastor Vincent Hartsfield and First Lady Latisha Hartsfield Sunday, May 6 at 10 a.m. Rev. National Day of prayer

community Fair

Marlin ISD will host the 2nd Annual Community Fair on May 6 at Marlin Middle School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Job Fair on-site in the Learning Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

fREE TRASH DAY

Falls County Free Trash Day will be held at two locations - Marlin and Lott - on Saturday, May 6, from 8 a.m. to noon or until dumpsters are full. Two Locations: Falls County Jail Site, 2847 Hwy. 6, Marlin; Waste Collection Station, 330 S. Hwy. 77, Lott. Batteries, Appliances and Brush (no larger than 3” in diameter) Will Be Accepted. NO TIRES - No Chemicals - No Hazardous Waste - No Roofing Materials. 

 

Mother/Daughter Tea Party

Faith, Hope and Charity will host a Mother/Daughter Tea Party in Formal Wear on May 6 from 3-6 p.m. at 405 E. First Street in Marlin. Photos, art, jewelry and much more. Theme is Perseverance Unity Togetherness. RSVP to Shirley Piper at (254) 644-0296.

 

Gospel quartet

The Blackwood Gospel Quartet will be in concert at First Baptist Church, Rosebud on May 7 at 6 p.m.  Everyone is welcome. 

 

Family fun day

Country Worship Cowboy Church will host a Team Roping event on May 7 for the 22nd Annual Family Fun Day. Join at 10 a.m. for church with special music and message from recording artist Rex Robards followed by a fish fry lunch. Team Roping 4 for $80. Lions Car Show

The 20th Annual Marlin Lions Club’s Car & Motorcycle Show will be held on Saturday, June 10, at the Courthouse Square in Marlin. Cost is $20 pre-registration ($25 day of) and online registration at jay.t.elliott@gmail.com. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature prizes and a 50/50 drawing.  Spectators are welcome at no charge to view the Cars & Motorcycles on the Square on June 10 with proceeds helping the Marlin Lions serve the local community.

The Marlin Chamber of Commerce 112th Annual Awards Banquet will be on June 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Marlin’s Men’s Civic Association Building, Business Hwy 6 in Marlin. Tickets are $20 individual and $30 for a couple. 

 

Chamber raffle

Marlin Chamber 2023 Raffle tickets are on sale. First prize is a 40” Full HD Television, Second Prize is a Home Theater Projcetor and Screen, Third Prize is a $50 Visa Gift Card. Drawing is on April 10. Tickets are $5 each or three for $12. Conact any Chamber officer for tickets.

Every second Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church parking lot in Marlin.

 

Marlin senior 

center

Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.
