Garage Sale

St. Paul Community Church is holding a multi-family garage sale on Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be held in the church parsonage at 212 FM 2307 (5 miles north of Marlin off Hwy. 6).

 

Prayer vigil

A group of community clergy has organized a Community Prayer Vigil, Wednesday, May 31, at 6 p.m. at the South Union Baptist Church. Prayer warriors and concerned citizens are invited. There will be no discussion regarding the graduation re-scheduling. The prayers will be focused on credence in God’s hands and guidance to deflect future occurrences.South Union Baptist Church is located at 1313 Waites St-Marlin under the leadership of Rev. KC Garage sale

The Westphalia Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a community-wide garage sale at the Westphalia Parish Hall Pavilion, State Highway 320, on Saturday, June 3, from 7 a.m. to noon. Booth space is free. To obtain a booth or be placed on the map, contact Brian Wilde at (254) 718-6764. Sausage wraps and drinks will be available for purchase from the Knights of Columbus.

 

Lions Car Show

The 20th Annual Marlin Lions Club’s Car & Motorcycle Show will be held on Saturday, June 10, at the Courthouse Square in Marlin. Cost is $20 pre-registration ($25 day of) and online registration at jay.t.elliott@gmail.com. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

The Perry Ladies Society will host its 5th Annual Drive Thru Hamburger Supper on June 24 from 5-7:30 p.m. or until sold out at 193 CR 127 in Riesel (Perry Methodist Fellowship Hall). Hamburger, chips, drink and homemade dessert for $10.

 

Choir Annual

The 72nd Annual Criswell Cemetery Homecoming will be Sunday, June 11, at 11 a.m. General Business Meeting followed by singing and communion. Noon lunch.

The Marlin Chamber of Commerce 112th Annual Awards Banquet will be on June 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Marlin’s Men’s Civic Association Building, Business Hwy 6 in Marlin. Tickets are $20 individual and $30 for a couple.

American Legion

Marlin senior center

Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.

 

Story Time

Children’s Story Time returns to the Marlin Library on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

 

NAACP

NAACP will meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Falconer Stamp Center on Durr Street.

 

After School 

Program

The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child. The program takes place at Marlin Elementary School. Lions Club meeting

Lions Club of Marlin will meet every second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 12 p.m. at the Chicken Place. 

 

Veterans Assistance

Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans / Outreach.
