Marlin COVID-19 3K Walk

Marlin Juneteenth Organization presents Marlin COVID-19 3K Walk on Dec. 3 at Marlin Courthouse. Registration prior to the event $25. Please use Cash App SJune19marlin or (254) 447-5678. COVID-19 3K Packet Pick-up will be available on the day of the event to participants who have pre-registered and paid. T-shirts will also be available at a reduced price, age 16 and under. ST. PAUL QUILT RAFFLE

St. Paul Community Church is holding a quilt raffle to benefit the restoration of their historic church building. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5, and can be purchased at Sharon’s Hair Styles in Marlin or by calling (254) 405-2422. Winners will be announced on Dec. 4, and ticket holders need not be present to win.

 

Lott Christmas 

Parade

Lott Queen of the Prairie Civic Club will host the 24th annual Christmas Parade in Lott on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate. Float contest and Little Jinglers Contest for kids. Chili Supper

Santa Claus is coming to town! When? Dec. 8. Why? To feast on the great chili concocted by the Rosebud Volunteer Fire Department. So come join Santa, your friends, and neighbors at the Methodist Fellowship Hall between 5:30 and 8:30 and enjoy some fantastic chili. Santa will hang around awhile after the Christmas Parade to collect you Christmas wish lists. Hope to see you there.

 

Rosebud Christmas Parade

The Rosebud Christmas Parade presented by the Rosebud Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will be held on Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. Parade line-up will be at 5:30 p.m. on Ave. B starting at College Street by City Hall. Santa pictures will be at the Methodist Church Hall during the Rosebud Fire Department’s chili supper after the parade. Rosebud House Decorating Contest is Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. with nominations ending at 5 p.m. on Dec. 16.

 

Christmas Parade

Marlin Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will be held on Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Vendor’s Market at the Chamber office, 245 Coleman Street from 5-8 p.m. Battle of the Bands & Drumlines from Marlin, Chilton and Hearne. Local Youth Program

Gospel Lighthouse Church invites all youths within the community to Foundation Youth, an hour and a half long time of games, food, fun, and fellowship. It takes place each Sunday evening from 5-6:30 p.m. at 1009 Live Oak in Marlin.

 

Computer classes

Computer Classes continue at the Marlin Library on Mondays at 10:30 a.m.

 

Story Time

Children’s Story Time returns to the Marlin Library on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

 

American Legion

Veterans Assistance

Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans / Outreach. After School 

Program

The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child. NAACP will meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Falconer Stamp Center on Durr Street.
