Body pulled from water at park

A body was pulled from the water at Marlin City Park on July 6.

According to the Marlin Police Department, at approximately 1:59 p.m. Marlin PD discovered a body at the City Park partially submerged in the water and mud. The victim could not be positively identified at the time. The PD said there had been rumors but it is not clear at this time if this is the subject that was reported missing on July 2. This is still an ongoing investigation.

In an unrelated event, at approximately 8:45 a.m. on July4 the MPD was dispatched and advised of a possible drowning at the Marlin City Lake.

The MPD was informed both the caller and the possible drowning victim could not swim. Upon arrival a 60 year-old male from Missouri City was pulled from the Lake by Constable  Shoemaker, but had already passed from drowning. The gentleman was out there fishing with a friend when he slipped and fell in the water.
