Boil water notice rescinded

The Boil Water Notice issued for the City of Marlin was rescinded on April 17.

On April 14, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Marlin public water system, PWS 0730002, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of April 17.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Jennifer Trotter Supervisor or Scott Fornash Public Works Director at (254) 883-3371.

The City of Marlin Water Treatment plant has taken action to correct the issues at hand. Our Membrane Filters have been repaired and our filter system reassembled and is now producing safe drinking water for the citizens of Marlin once again. The distribution system was flushed of any water that may or may not have been contaminated. Bacteriological Samples were sampled throughout the city of Marlin. They were tested and found negative of any harmful bacteria.
