Chilton Champs Honored

The 1972 Class B State Champion Chilton Pirates were honored before the Chilton-Granger football game Friday night in Chilton. 50 years ago Chilton defeated Windthorst 6-0 in Stephenville for the first Class B (now 2A) UIL football championship awarded. It was the first of two state championships for Chilton, the second was in 2006, also against Windthorst in Stephenville (20-10). The 1972 Pirates finished the season at 14-1 (same record in 2006) Chilton defeated Granger 34-19 to remain undefeated at 8-0. Congratulations to the Chilton Pirates.
