Chilton man found with drugs, stolen car

A Falls County man was arrested with two pounds of meth in a stolen pickup truck late at night on Thursday, March 18, in College Station.

Brett Rhodes, 54, was pulled over on a Highway 6 feeder road around midnight by College Station Police.

Officers noticed the vehicle after a license plate reader reported the truck was stolen from Brazoria County.

According to reports, authorities say the story Rhodes gave, about borrowing the truck from a friend didn’t make sense.

The officers searched the vehicle, finding more than two pounds of meth in small baggies and a plastic container, as well as a digital scale.

Rhodes is charged with manufacture and/or delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in a state jail.

He was being held in the Brazos County Jail on a $45,000 bond.
