City receives grant funds

The City of Marlin has been awarded $498,714 through the Texas Department of Agriculture’s (TDA) FAST Fund grant program. 

This program was established to assist Texas communities with updating and enhancing their fire, rescue and emergency medical vehicle fleets and associated equipment. 

Marlin will be using the awarded amount to purchase one (1) pumper/tanker, one (1) light duty rescue/brush truck, two (2) self contained breathing apparatuses and one (1) set of battery operated vehicle extrication tools. 

The addition of these critical equipment items will significantly enhance the Fire Department’s emergency response capabilities and the safety of firefighters and the community alike.
