City-wide clean-up day returns to Marlin

The citizens of Marlin are invited to participate in a city-wide clean-up on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. With multiple events impending, the City of Marlin wants to be sure the town is prepared for the visitors that are to come with these events.

Residents are asked to clean up their own properties or to lend a hand to someone else. Shared use of equipment and workload is encouraged.

“We will need all lawnmowers, weed eaters, and trash cans on deck,” reads the event announcement. “Let’s beautify Marlin and display our Bulldog Pride.”

The city will also provide dumpsters in various locations around town, though exact locations have not been released. Tires and white goods will not be accepted.

Volunteers are needed for the larger streets in town that have few residences, such as Live Oak Street, Walker Street, and Williams Street. For those that would like to volunteer their time, meet at the old bank on Live Oak.

Donations of refreshments for volunteers will be accepted. Call (254) 883-1426 with any questions
