City's bond issue passes

Marlin residents passed a bond issue for $2.4 million for improving city streets on Tuesday night.

Voters approved the bond by a vote of 128-51.

The City Council voted to issue the bond election earlier this year to help with repair for the city’s infrastructure including streets, roads, sidewalks, bridges and intersections.

City residents can expect the estimated maximum annual increase in the amount of taxes that would be imposed on a residence homestead in the city with a taxable appraised value of $100,000 to repay the proposed bonds, if approved, is $78.80, according to bond documents.
