Commissioners talk repairs and revitalization

The Falls County Commissioners Court met on May 11 at 9 a.m in the Falls County Courtroom. The meeting was opened with a prayer led by Ms. Nita Wuebker, PCT 4 commissioner. County Judge Jay Elliott opened the meeting by asking that Mr. Jeff Jackson, R & B Administrator, be allowed to address the gathering first. Mr. Jackson spoke about the progress being made in recycling of tractor tires and spoke about the exact type of equipment that will be needed to transport the tires to their recycle location. Ms. Wuebker inserted that she is presently applying a grant to help with the cost of moving these discarded items.

Mr. Jackson also stated that he wished to be granted some flexibility in scheduling his work crews in consideration of bad weather. He stated that he felt it was prudent to release workers if the weather prevents them from doing their work and to reschedule them for a later day in the week. His presentation ended after some discussion about specific times being established for the each work day’s meal breaks.
