Community members invited to serve on Board of Managers

On Sept. 16 Marlin ISD lost a valuable member of our community, Danny Vickers.

Vickers was appointed as a Board of Manager at Marlin ISD on May 22, 2019, and faithfully served the district and its students in this role until his passing.

Marlin ISD Superintendent Darryl Henson said the district is thankful for his service and for the improvements he and the Board have made in the past two years.

Texas Education Agency Commissioner, Mike Morath, has appointed Marsha Ridlehuber to serve in Vickers’ Board of Manager place until a community member can be selected for the position.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Board of Manger for the district, please join the Texas Education Agency and Marlin ISD at the Marlin Middle School learning center (library) for a community meeting on Monday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m.

At the meeting, the Texas Education Agency will discuss the: Roles and responsibilities of a Board of Manager; Application review and selection process; and Board of Manager service timeline.

“We at the district would love the opportunity to connect with you and answer any questions you may have concerning the Board of Manager position,” Henson said.

Please feel free to reach out to me at dhenson@marlinisd.org, if you have any questions or concerns regarding the Board of Manager position.

“I look forward to seeing you at the Marlin Middle School learning center,” Henson said.
