Convicted sex offender wants to serve on Marlin City Council

Chris Spain, 43, a convicted sex offender, spoke to the Marlin Democrat about why – with a conviction like the one he has on his record – he would subject himself to the scrutiny that comes with the decision to run for City Council, especially in a small town like Marlin where seemingly everyone knows your past?

Spain, who is eligible to run under the Texas Election Code, explained he has watched City Council for years and has never seen a council member “fight for the neighborhoods.”
