EF3 Tornado devastates Franklin
At 10:55 a.m. on Saturday April 13, a categorized EF3 tornado touched down within the city of Franklin.
First-responders arrived on the scene minutes after to find destruction throughout the south side of the city that has been estimated at $4 million at the time of this report; however, that number is likely to increase.
Search-and-rescue teams searched the seven city blocks effected by the tornado, executing rescues of 10 individuals. Seven minor injuries were reported with one person transported for multiple fractures.
Police agencies from around Robertson County as well as EMS and several fire departments all worked the initial rescue effort, at times placing themselves at risk with two officers from the Franklin Police Department sustaining minor injuries that were treated after rescuers completed the initial structure searches.
