Falls County Community ARC Coalition: Supporting a School Nurse

School nursing is defined as a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students.

At Marlin Elementary School, School Nurse Judy Morrow provides direct healthcare to these young students, and that care requires a preparedness for a

myriad of circumstances. Enter the benevolence of the community, in this case, the donations of 16 t-shirts and 5 pairs of new socks by Diana Fox, member of the Falls Community ARC Coalition. That, plus an earlier donation of baby wipes by Derinda Austin, exemplifies support of a school nurse’s care for these young students.

This was not the first time for such donations, and it will not be the last! Members of the Falls Community ARC Coalition delight in making contributions of needed items such as baby wipes, new socks, new underclothing, new or  gently-used pants and shirts in support of the youngest of the young at Marlin Elementary School. “I just ask her (School Nurse Judy) what she needs, and she lets me know,” explains Derinda Austin of the  Falls Community ARC Coalition.

National Nurses Day is May 6, 2025. Remember, school nurses are indispensable to the health and future of our nation’s children, everyday.
