Falls County Courthouse closed to public

 

The Falls County Courthouse will be closed to non-pertinent affairs as of Friday, March 20, 2020. 

District Court

Previously scheduled district court will happen for case types that require a specific timeline, such as divorce, CPS, etc. Other cases have been reset, such as where the defendant is out on bond.

County Court

The next scheduled County Court date is April 15. Even if this is delayed, cases will still be heard from individuals who are currently in jail awaiting a hearing, according to Falls County Judge Jay Elliot.

Tax Office

The Falls County Tax Office will not be processing transactionS face to face until further notice. The State of Texas has extended the deaDline pertaining to motor vehicle transactions to May 17, 2020. This extension is for normal vehicle registration and title transactions.   • Vehicle renewals: can be mailed to 1910 Industrial Park Rd, Marlin, TX 76661 at the atttention of Falls County Tax Office or renew online at www.txdmv.gov
  • Tax payments: mailed to the above address or paid online at texasonlinerecords.com
  • Temporary permits: can be purchased at www.txdmv.gov

Moving Forward: 

The Falls County courthouse will be accessible by appointment only or for admission to commissioners court meetings. Anyone entering the building for any reason is expected to sanitize their hands upon entry and is expected to exit the facility as soon as business is completed.
