Falls County Eligible for $350,000 in Ambulance Services

Due to inclement weather, the Falls County Commissioners Court was rescheduled to January 27, 2026, Judge Jay Elliott presiding. Commissioners present were Milton Albright (Pct. 1), F. A. Green (Pct. 2), Jason Willberg (Pct. 3) and Nita Wuebker (Pct. 4) via teleconference. ADA Steve Sharp was in attendance.

Under Elected Officials reports, the Marlin water status was noted. Commissioner Green commended the FC United Sports team who had four teams to win the Superbowl championship and recommended the 501c3 organization be considered for future donations.

Commissioners approved the resale of 17.55 acres of trust property to Amanda Lee for the original tax sale opening $60,305 bid, to be paid as installments to the tax office.

In other matters, the Commissioners approved: (1) Kone Elevator for elevator maintenance. Judge Elliott was awarded permission to sign related resolutions. (2) House Bill 3000 established a grant program to fund new ambulances and equipment to improve emergency response time for rural counties with populations of 68,750 or less. Falls County is a recipient of $350,000. Because ESDs cannot run ambulance services, Falls County will lease its ambulance to Allegiance Mobile Health Service. The ambulance will be utilized in Falls County only. (3) Commissioner Milton Albright was appointed as County Judge ProTem, (4) three Certificate of Deposits were renewed for one year, and (5) approved the resolution for the 2027 Youth Victim Services and the Youth Intervention Services.

Commissioners approved Guardian Security Solutions, LC concerning the camera system at the Chilton Annex and a $96,568 payment to Falls Community Hospital and Clinic for Indigent Health care. Regarding the Sheriff’s Office, several line items were approved: (1) OEM Outdoor fan motor for the County Jail, (2) quote for computer purchase, and (3) installation of high wall heat pump mini splits in new offices and bathroom.

Commissioner Wuebker moved to change the speed limit to 45 mph for all of CR 443. Seconded by Commissioner Albright, the motion carried. Constable, Pct. 1, Jonathan Shoemaker’s 2025 Racial Profiling Report was accepted by the Commissioners. Also approved was the compensatory time payout for one jail employee.

Jeff Jackson, Road & Bridge Administrator, noted the department is fully staffed and FEMA funds have been received.

Prior to the payment of bills, Commissioners moved to establish distinct overtime pay expense line items within the fiscal year 2026 department budgets. Commissioner Albright moved to approve the payment of all bills, budget amendments, and payroll. Seconded by Commissioner Willberg, the motion carried. Commissioner Wuebker moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Second by Commissioner Green, the motion carried. The next Commissioners meeting is Monday, February 9 at 9 am. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
