Falls County Felony Docket August 27

On August 27, 2020, Judge Bryan F. Russ, Jr. convened court to hear felony matters presented by District Attorney Jody Gilliam.  The following Felony cases were disposed of:  

 

1st Degree Felony (5 to 99 years or life, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

Vernon James Prescott, Jr, 44, from Lott, who had been place on probation for the offense of aggravated robbery has been extended 10 years on probation. 

 

2nd Degree Felony (2 to 20 years, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

De’Ante Amari Spencer, 21, from Marlin, pled guilty to burglary of habitation, he was placed on 7 years deferred probation, he was assessed a $1,500.00 fine and ordered to complete 320 hours of community service. Spencer was arrested on June 19, 2019, by Lott Police Department. 

Whitney Ashton Skipper, 33, from Moody, pled guilty to abandon/endangering child imminent danger bodily injury, she was placed on 3 years deferred probation, she was assessed a $1,000.00 fine and ordered to complete 120 hours of community service. Skipper was arrested on January 27, 2020, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office.

 

3rd Degree Felony (2 to 10 years, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

De’Ante Amari Spencer, 21, from Marlin, pled guilty to bail jumping, he was placed on 7 years deferred probation. Spencer was arrested on August 11, 2020, by Marlin Police Department. 

Joseph Daniel Najar, 22, from Waco, who had been placed on probation for the offense of bail jumping, had his probation modified and was sentenced to a felony substance abuse punishment program. Najar was arrested on January 16, 2020.

Oscar Luis Lopez, 33, from Marlin, pled guilty to driving while intoxicated, he was sentenced to 5 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. His sentence was revoked and he was placed on 5 years probation, he was assessed a $2,500.00 fine and ordered to complete community service hours. Lopez was arrested on January 28, 2020, by Texas Department of Public Safety. 

Frederick Eujean Tyler,38, from Marlin, pled guilty to fail to comply with sex offender registration, he was sentenced to 5 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. His sentence was revoked and he was placed on 5 years probation, he was ordered to complete all the conditions in cause number 10185. Tyler was arrested on January 2, 2020, by Texas Department of Public Safety. 

 

State Jail Felony (6 to 24 months, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

Brian Quinn Knox, 35, from Marlin pled guilty to possession of controlled substance, cocaine, less than one gram, he was placed on 3 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,500.00 fine, and also ordered to complete 120 hours of community service. Knox was arrested on November 10, 2019, by Marlin Police Department.   

Joseph Daniel Najar, Jr, 22, from Waco, who had been placed on probation for the offense of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine less than one gram, had his probation modified and sentenced to a felony substance abuse punishment program. Najar was arrested on January 16, 2020.   

Jeremy Roman Sanders, 32, from Marlin, who had been placed on probation for the offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, less than one gram, had his probation modified and sentenced to a felony substance abuse punishment program. Sanders was arrested on June 25, 2020. 

Logan Glenn Collier, 39, Lexington, pled guilty to theft <10 head livestock<$30,000.00 X6, he was sentenced to 2 years confinement in a State Jail Facility and ordered to pay court costs. Collier was arrested on January 24, 2020, by Lee County. 

Matthew Edward Ward, 33, from Lott, pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, less than one gram, he was placed on 3 years deferred probation, he was assessed a $1,500.00 fine and ordered to complete 120 hours of community service. Ward was arrested on December 15, 2019, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office. 

Whitney Ashton Skipper, 33, from Moody, pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, less than one gram, she was placed on 3 years deferred probation. Skipper was arrested on January 27, 2020, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office.
